Best of the MTV Movie Awards

I was in Austin without internet access during the MTV Movie Awards, but I loved these three looks and had to share:

Emma Watson in Brood

Emma Stone in Martin Grant

Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab

Best of the Met Ball

Drooling over these dresses:

My latest girl crush

Emily Blunt in Jason Wu

She is just too cute.  Plus, I’m really digging the juxtaposition of her “unstyled” hair with this gown.

Elizabeth Olsen in Valentino

I say, if you’ve got it, flaunt it.

Gwen Stefani in Stella McCartney

Elizabeth Banks in a bright and cheery Bill Blass gown.

Best of the Oscars

Usually a fan of color, I was pretty surprised that my favorite looks from last night were black and white:

Giulina Rancic in Basil Soda.  I wish I had a better picture because this gown was so good.

Here’s a shot from the runway.  Basil Soda is definitely becoming one of my new favorite designers.

Giuliana Rancic in Tony Howard Couture.  Giuliana looked better than most of the celebrities she was interviewing!

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen.  Her hair looked amazing with this dress.

Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji.  I thought she looked so lovely.  So happy for her win!

Angelina Jolie in Versace Atelier.  But seriously, what the heck was going on with her right leg?!

And my favorite:

Rooney Mara in Givenchy Haute Couture.

I loved that it was simple, yet modern and so interesting and intricate.  She wears it well.

I love the effortless draping of this dress, and I’m a huge fan of her music as well.

Lana Del Rey in Vivienne Westwood

Best of BAFTA

The BAFTA Awards seem to have been completely overshadowed this year by the Grammy’s, since it too was held yesterday, although in London.  Here are my two favorite looks from the night:

Tilda Swinton in Celine

Penelope Cruz in Giorgio Armani

Best of the Grammy’s

I love that the Grammy’s are more fun and carefree than the other awards shows, which encourages more freedom and risk-taking with one’s dress selection.  But there is a huge distinction between statement looks that are avant-garde and those that are tacky.  Here are my favorite looks of the night:

Rihanna in Giorgio Armani

Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney

Taylor Swift in Zuhair Murad

And I was actually shocked by my favorite look of the night: Paris Hilton in Basil Soda.  The dress was absolutely stunning, and I have never seen Paris look so good.  I consider Basil Soda a designer to watch, for I loved Giuliana Rancic’s dress from SAG as well.
